[12-14-2022] Kern County, CA – Teenager in Critical Condition After Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident

Authorities said a teenager was hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Bakersfield on Wednesday morning, December 14, 2022.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the crash occurred around 6:10 a.m. at the Allen Road and Brimhall Road intersection.

The officer who responded found the victim was a teenager who was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition for sustaining major injuries.

The initial inquiry revealed that the teen was struck by a car running a green light while crossing the street against a red light. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities in their investigation.

The inquiry was taken over by the Major Collision Investigation Team of the Bakersfield Police. Drugs and alcohol didn’t seem to have contributed to the crash.
