Fatal Multi-Vehicle Accident Statistics

It is a fact that automobile accidents are the leading cause of death and serious injury on our roads in the United States, accounting for almost 200,000 incidents and injuries every year.

According to data compiled by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a traffic-related accident takes place once every 60 seconds. In 2016, there were more than 3,300 fatal car accidents in California. Over ninety-four percent of all those accidents may be traced back to human mistakes.

If only two vehicles are involved, determining fault is not that complicated. Finding a compromise for everyone involved when there are multiple vehicles is another story.

If two or more cars had collided, many people might have died. So trying to figure out who was at fault becomes more difficult.

It is not advisable to rely on an insurance company to resolve a multiple-vehicle accident where the fault is unclear. A policyholder’s interests are never put first by insurance companies when settling a claim.
