[11-18-2022] San Bernardino County, CA – 33-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Barstow

A 33-year-old man was killed after being hit by a Barstow vehicle on Friday night, November 18, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol Barstow Area, the crash occurred at 9:15 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 15, south of East Main Street.

The Santa Maria pedestrian was reportedly walking in traffic lanes wearing dark clothing. He walked in the path of a 2010 Dodge Challenger for some reason and got hit by it.

Medical responders administered life-saving procedures as they took the injured man to Barstow Community Hospital, where he was later declared dead.

The identity of the deceased has not been made public by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office.

The vehicle was driven by a 64-year-old male Dinuba resident traveling north on I-15.

The CHP Barstow Area Office is looking into this crash, and it is unknown if drugs or alcohol had a role.
