[08-04-2022] Los Angeles County, CA - Multi-Vehicle Collision Injured Several People in Lake BalboaOne person is in critical condition, and three others were injured following a rollover crash that damaged several other vehicles and a utility pole in Lake Balboa on Thursday night, August 4, 2022.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the multi-vehicle collision occurred just after 11:00 p.m. at West Vanowen Street, 17700 blocks.

The SUV apparently sheared a utility pole, struck a building, hit several other vehicles, and then crashed.

According to witnesses, the car was traveling at a speed of about 100 MPH at the time of the collision. Authorities have not confirmed the SUV’s speed.

The LAFD reported that the SUV’s driver needed to be released because he was imprisoned. Emergency personnel transported the unidentified driver to a nearby trauma center in critical condition.

According to the Fire Department, three additional patients were treated on-site and declined transport.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power crews were called to the scene after discovering that water was dripping from the company hit in the collision.

The accident’s origin is still under investigation.
