Multi-Vehicle Crash Statistics

The state’s booming economy is directly causing an increase in traffic accidents. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 3,304 people lost their lives in traffic-related incidents in 2010.

Nonetheless, California roads can be extremely hazardous for drivers. If the drivers involved had been more careful, those collisions might have been avoided. Human error accounts for over 94% of all accidents.

Injuries sustained in car accidents can range from extremely unpleasant to fatal. Because of how common accidents are, it’s easy for drivers to become desensitized to the risks they face every time they get behind the wheel.

When three or more cars are involved in an accident, it is called a multi-vehicle collision. If two vehicles collide head-on, up to four additional cars may become entangled in the wreckage.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released a report showing that more than 13,000 people were killed in accidents involving multiple vehicles in 2010.

Los Angeles County Car Accident Lawyers

When only two vehicles are involved, prosecuting the drivers is less complicated. When more vehicles are involved in an accident, finding a solution can take more time.

In this case, pinpointing the cause is more of a challenge. Many lives could have been lost if two or more cars had collided.

It may be unwise to rely on an insurance company if the details surrounding the cause of a multi-vehicle collision remain unclear. The insurance company will not settle your claim quickly because doing so would hurt their profits more than they would help you.
