According to The California Highway Patrol, at least one person was injured after an SUV sheared to a hydrant and crashed into a commercial building in Whittier Saturday, September 24, 2022.
The crash occurred around 3:00 a.m. at 13339 Leffingwell Road in Whittier.
Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding an abandoned SUV that crashed into a commercial building, sparking a fire and rupturing a gas line.
The Los Angeles County Firefighters and paramedics came upon an SUV that had also sheared a hydrant.
Officials said the SUV had been abandoned by the occupants after the crash.
The CHP reported that a man wearing a bloodied T-shirt walked into a 7-Eleven at 13019 Imperial Highway to say that he was involved in a vehicle crash and that the vehicle was on fire.
The total number of people that were injured is still unknown.
No further information was immediately available. The crash is still under investigation.
