[10-11-2022] One Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Long BeachA man apparently lying on a street was hit by a car and killed in Long Beach on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the crash occurred at about 11:55 p.m. on Studebaker Road and Spring Street.

Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. Information on his identity was not immediately available.

The police stated the preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was lying on the roadway, outside of a marked crosswalk, when he was struck by a 2007 Honda Civic that was being driven by an adult resident of Long Beach.

According to the officials, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Neither speed nor distracted or impaired driving are currently believed to be contributing factors in the collision.
