[10-12-202] One Person Killed, Another Injured in Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash in PhelanOne person was killed and another seriously hurt on State Route 138 in Phelan on Wednesday afternoon, October 12.

The collision was reported at around 12:49 p.m. at the intersection of Oil Well Road and State Route 138.

According to the California Highway Patrol logs, the collision involved a blue Dodge sedan and a silver KIA sedan.

They discovered both vehicles to be severely damaged when San Bernardino County Fire Department emergency personnel arrived on the scene.

One person was declared dead at the scene, and another was in critical condition.

A landing was requested for Helicopter Air Rescue 306 just south of the accident so that the critically injured occupant could be taken further to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

According to incident logs, the collision was blocking both of State Route 138’s eastbound lanes, and Cal Trans was asked to hard close the westbound lanes.

The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
