[10-21-2022] Los Angeles County, CA – Several People Injured in High-Speed Two-Vehicle Crash in Studio City

Several people sustained minor injuries after a Tesla crashed into the front of a BevMo in Studio City on Friday afternoon, October 21, 2022.

The collision occurred just after 4:00 p.m. at Ventura and Laurel Canyon Boulevards.

Los Angeles police claim that the driver of a speeding Dodge Challenger struck the Tesla, sending it careening into a Toyota RAV4 that was parked, a parking meter, and ultimately through the glass storefront.

The Challenger’s driver stayed at the scene after the collision.

The owner of the RAV4, Adhwa Alruwais, discovered her brand-new vehicle had almost been totaled when she returned from shopping across the street.

According to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department, only five people were hurt in total, though they declined medical attention when it was offered to them. This likely means that they had only minor injuries.

The structures also avoided damaging impacts.

According to LAPD Officer James Norton, BevMo is fine. They’re going to need to board up the area. Building and Safety went to look at it. With the exception of superficial glass windows and other minor structural damage, they don’t deem the building to be unsafe.
