[10-25-2022] San Bernardino County, CA - Three People Killed in Fatal Wrong-Way Collision in FontanaThree people were killed in a tragic collision involving a wrong-way driver on the 15 Freeway in Fontana on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.

The crash occurred around 11:40 p.m. just south of Sierra Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a car traveling north in the southbound lanes struck another vehicle just south of Sierra Avenue.

Two people were found trapped inside a black Honda that was completely engulfed in flames.

According to CHP Sgt. Robbe, the male and female involved were later declared dead.

The collision also claimed the life of a woman in a maroon Kia hatchback at the time.

The two vehicles’ scorched wreckage could be seen in a video taken at the scene.

Which car the wrong-way driver was in was not immediately clear.

The southbound 15 Freeway received a SigAlert. All lanes were shut down with the exception of the slow lane, while the CHP looked into something.

The onramp for Sierra Avenue was also closed.

According to the CHP, the SigAlert was cleared, and all lanes were reopened by 7:30 a.m.
