[11-16-2022] Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Long BeachA male pedestrian was killed after getting struck by a vehicle in Long Beach on Wednesday morning, November 16, 2022.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the crash occurred at 3:20 a.m. at Rose Avenue and 7th Street intersection.

The investigation revealed that the pedestrian was hit by a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer driven by a 23-year-old Long Beach resident when they crossed the intersection.

Officers who responded found the pedestrian lying in the westbound lanes of 7th Street, being attended to by the Long Beach Fire Department paramedics.

The man succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead at the scene despite their best attempts.

The driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Upon investigation, speed is considered the primary cause of the collision.
