A hit-and-run collision occurs when two vehicles crash and one escapes without stopping to assist the wounded victim. Because victims do not obtain immediate medical care or compensation for pain and suffering, hit-and-run events can have profound implications.
When a car fails to yield to a pedestrian or quickly brakes, the pedestrian is most likely killed or injured.
To lessen the risk of injury, pedestrians should utilize sidewalks wherever possible, avoid drugs and alcohol, and carefully cross parking lots and driveways.
