Drunk Driving Accident Statistics
Over 10,000 deaths per year can be attributed to drunk driving, as reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. About one-fifth (or 18%) of all traffic deaths involve substance addiction.
The 30,000 annual injuries and 2,000 annual deaths caused by vehicle accidents in California are greatly impacted by drunk driving. It’s possible that a DUI conviction may result in several thousand dollars in expenses, especially if the driver is of age or if the car is valuable.
Drunk drivers are a greater danger to other motorists because they are less able to control their vehicles, have impaired judgment, and respond more slowly. In no circumstances is it acceptable to put oneself in such danger.
Injuries sustained in a collision caused by an intoxicated driver are never the victim’s responsibility. Before consulting a lawyer, you should not participate in settlement talks or interviews. Your first step should be to talk to an attorney who specializes in instances involving accidents caused by intoxicated drivers.
