[08-27-2022] Los Angeles County, CA – Bicyclist Dragged 25 Feet in a Hit-and-run Crash on Fickett Street

The L.A. Police Department is looking for a hit-and-run driver who drove over Luis L. and dragged him 25 feet on Fickett Street on Saturday, August 27, 2022.

The accident happened shortly before 9 p.m. near Boulder Street.

According to authorities, Lopez was riding an e – scooter when he lost his balance and fell to the ground. While Lopez was unconscious on the ground, a white van ran over him and dragged him roughly 25 feet before being dislodged. The van’s driver fled without halting.

According to Lopez’s 11-year partner, Fatima Garcia, Lopez was in the intensive care unit with multiple fractured bones and lacerations. He is yet to be released from the hospital.

A white Ford Econoline van is described as the suspect vehicle.

Police are looking for the suspect, and a $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest. The family of Lopez is begging for the driver to come forward.

The accident remains under investigation.
