[08-11-2022] Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash Involving Garbage Truck in Southeast FresnoAccording to the Fresno Police Department, a man died after crashing into a garbage truck in a two-vehicle collision in southeast Fresno Thursday morning, August 11, 2022.

The Fresno Police Department says the collision occurred around 9:00 a.m. near Chestnut Avenue and Lane Avenue.

According to police, the driver of the white Buick was speeding west on Lane Avenue when he struck the front of the garbage truck. The vehicle then lost control and landed on a house’s front lawn.

Police think the man passed away instantly.

When the crash occurred, there were occupants in the house, but nobody was hurt.

The garbage truck driver received minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.

The deceased man’s identity is unknown. Investigations into the crash’s cause are ongoing.
