According to the SJPD, One person died after a fatal DUI Crash in San Jose on Saturday night, September 3, 2022.
Around 3:33 a.m., the collision occurred close to Hellyer Avenue and Ridgebrook Way.
According to the reports, the accident started when a man operated an eastbound 2007 Toyota sedan on Hellyer Avenue when it collided with three parked vehicles.
Near the collision, the driver got out of his car and started to walk down the street. The Toyota’s driver was now a pedestrian when he was struck by a 2000 Dodge truck being operated by an adult male.
The pedestrian sustained significant injuries resulting in his death on the scene.
According to the police, the Dodge truck’s driver displayed signs of intoxication. He was arrested for DUI and vehicular manslaughter and taken to the central jail in Santa Clara.
