A baby was thrown from a car crash, and the driver had to be freed using jaws of life in Arleta on Sunday night, September 18, 2022.
According to Sgt. Rich Brunson of the Los Angeles Police Department, the collision was reported at around 8:50 p.m. in the 13900 block of West Terra Bella Street.
According to Brunson, a black Toyota Camry and a silver BMW sedan were traveling west on Terra Bella when the BMW attempted a u-turn and was rear-ended by the Camry.
According to Sgt. Rich Brunson, the infant was thrown from that vehicle as a result of the collision between those two vehicles.
Although there is a child seat in the car, it is currently impossible to tell whether the child was properly buckled up.
According to Brunson, both the driver and the infant are in critical condition, with the baby suffering from a form of head injury.
The driver had to be extricated from the car by the Los Angeles Fire Department.
According to Brunson, the Camry’s driver, who stayed at the scene, was not intoxicated and is thought to have been traveling at the posted speed limit.
