One person was declared dead, and another had to be freed from between two cars after an eight-car collision on the eastbound side of the 105 Freeway on Thursday, September 22, 2022.
The fatal accident took place on Thursday near the Crenshaw Boulevard exit and the 110 Freeway connector in Vermont Vista.
Uncertain factors may have contributed to the collision, but the aftermath showed a number of vehicles stalled in the carpool lane.
The California Highway Patrol has consequently issued a Sig Alert for all lanes on the 105 Freeway’s eastbound side as well as on the 105 to 110 Freeway connector’s westbound side.
When emergency personnel arrived, they discovered a driver trapped between two vehicles. That person was taken in critical condition to a hospital.
Five more people had their injuries assessed.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The individual was still in the car.
