[02-19-2023] One Person Killed, Another Injured in Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash in Rancho Santa FeA driver was killed, and a passenger was taken to the hospital with burn injuries following a fiery collision in the Rancho Santa Fe neighborhood on Sunday night, February 19, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol reported that the single-vehicle collision occurred at 10:34 p.m. at 15627 Via De La Valle.

Unknown factors caused a Toyota Camry to stray from the road and collide with a tree. The vehicle then caught fire.

A passenger who managed to escape the burning wreckage and was transported to the burn unit at the UC San Diego Medical Center with injuries of unknown severity died at the scene.
The CHP is looking into what caused the collision.
