A single-vehicle crash left one person killed and another one injured in Santa Maria on Friday morning, April 07, 2023.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the collision happened around 8:00 a.m. between Highway 101 and the Cuyama Valley.
Two people were inside the vehicle during the crash, a 19-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man.
Their car was traveling along Highway 166 when it plunged off it and landed on an embankment.
The man was rescued and rushed to the hospital for his severe injuries, while the woman was declared dead.
Investigations into the crash are currently underway.
