[04-30-2023] Two Drivers Killed, Two Passengers Injured After Suspected DUI-Related Crash on Avenal Cutoff RoadTwo drivers were killed, and two passengers were injured in a DUI-related crash in Kings County on Sunday afternoon, April 30, 2023.

California Highway Patrol said the incident occurred at Avenal Cutoff Road and Laurel Avenue.

According to the report, a 42-year-old man from Lemoore was driving a 2005 Chrysler vehicle, traveling in a northerly direction on Avenal Cutoff Road. However, the driver swerved into the southbound lane and collided with a Toyota vehicle. Both drivers were killed.

Emergency responders took the occupants of the Chrysler vehicle, a 17-year-old boy and a 48-year-old woman, to nearby hospitals for medical care. The extent of their injuries has not been released.

The investigation is still ongoing. The authorities are considering that drugs or alcohol may have played a role in the fatal collision.
