[05-23-2023] Two Individuals Injured After Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 145Two individuals, including one passenger named Raquel R., were injured after a two-vehicle collision on Highway 145 in Madera County on Tuesday afternoon, May 23, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol said the accident occurred at 1:00 p.m. between Storey Road and Road 29 on Highway 145.

According to the report, the GMC driver attempted to make a U-turn while the Ford pickup traveled westbound at around 55 mph. Unfortunately, the GMC driver initiated the U-turn in front of the Ford pickup, resulting in a collision on the driver’s side.

The GMC driver sustained severe injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital. Additionally, a woman in the passenger seat of the GMC, identified as a 28-year-old from Fresno, sustained moderate to severe injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
On the other hand, the driver of the Ford pickup, 65-year-old Carl S., did not sustain any injuries and was wearing a seatbelt, according to officials.

The investigation is ongoing.
