[06-07-2023] Fiery Crash Claims One Life as Truck Collided with Trailer on Academy and Shields AvenuesOne person was killed after a truck collided with a big-rig trailer in Fresno County on Wednesday morning, June 7, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol said the incident occurred around 11:00 a.m. on northbound Academy Avenue at Shields Avenue.

While traveling west on Shields, the truck driver failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into the trailer being pulled by a northbound big rig. The impact caused the trailer to drag the truck, resulting in a fire.

The truck driver died at the scene, while the big rig driver was unharmed.

The investigation is ongoing.
