[07-04-2023] Solo-Vehicle Crash on Sierra Highway in Acton Leaves Two People HospitalizedTwo people were transported to the hospital after their vehicle crashed along Sierra Highway near Hacienda Road in Acton, Los Angeles County, on Tuesday evening, July 4, 2023.

According to California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 10:01 p.m. parallel to the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway at the 2700 block of Sierra Highway.

It appears that the vehicle involved was a Chevrolet Avalanche pickup, which crashed into a fire hydrant and flooded the lanes of Sierra Highway. The pickup suffered significant damage in the crash and went down an embankment about 30 feet.

The accident resulted in two people being ejected from their vehicle. The Los Angeles County Fire Department helicopter responded and sent two unidentified people to the hospital, with one sustaining critical injuries while another having moderate injuries.

The investigation into the crash continues.
