A woman was sent to a hospital after a multi-vehicle collision in Bakersfield on Wednesday evening, July 5, 2023.
The Bakersfield Police Department says the accident occurred on Union Avenue and Niles Street at an unspecified time.
A witness said a vehicle went through a red light while traveling northbound on Union Avenue. As a result, the driver struck another vehicle traveling eastbound on Niles Street. Vehicles collided with each other during the crash, causing a third vehicle to crash into them. The driver of the first vehicle was ejected from it.
The woman sustained moderate to major injuries and was taken to a local hospital. It is undetermined if the woman is an occupant of any of the three cars involved or a pedestrian. There is no public information about the other people involved.
The investigation of the crash continues.
