[07-16-2023] Los Angeles County, CA – One Person Injured After Santa Clarita Two-Vehicle Collision, Wrong-Way Driver Apparently Involved

­One person was severely injured after a crash involving two vehicles in Santa Clarita on Sunday evening, July 16, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the collision just before 8:30 p.m. near Soledad Canyon Road on the southbound 14 Freeway.

According to the report, a dark four-door car and a silver van had collided in the lane closest to the center divider.

Emergency responders were seen working at the scene, and one person was observed being taken on a stretcher into an ambulance.

Before the incident, the CHP had received reports of a wrong-way driver on the freeway, but it has not been confirmed which driver was heading in the wrong direction.

The cause of the crash remains unknown as the investigation continues.
