[07-20-2023] Tragic Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 50 Claims Life of 9-Year-Old ChildA 9-year-old child was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 50 in Sacramento County on Thursday evening, July 20, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol stated that the collision occurred on the westbound side of the highway, obstructing the 59th Street on-ramp, before 6:45 p.m.

According to the officers’ investigation, one of the cars veered to the right and overturned over a guard wall, ultimately landing upside down and causing the death of a child who was a passenger in the car.

The identities of the people and the total number of vehicles involved remain unknown.

It also remains uncertain whether alcohol contributed to the occurrence of the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
