[07-20-2023] One Motorist Injured Following Multi-Vehicle Collision Caused by Hit-And-Run Driver on I-215A motorist was injured following a multi-vehicle collision caused by a hit-and-run driver in Riverside on Thursday afternoon, July 20, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol and Riverside Fire Department responded to the accident near the University Avenue exit from southbound I-215 around 4:15 p.m.

The suspect was driving an SUV when he struck three motorists. An occupant of one of the sedans sustained a minor to moderate injury. The injured victim was treated at the scene, but it’s unclear if he was transported to a hospital. The negligent SUV driver was seen fleeing the scene.

It was identified that the victims’ vehicles were a Honda Civic, another sedan, and an SUV. Their identities were not yet disclosed.

Authorities are still determining whether the suspect was involved in a road rage incident, drunk driving, or simply driving recklessly.
