[08-01-2023] Los Angeles County, CA – Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Vehicle in Pacoima

A man in his 50s was killed after being struck by a car that fled the scene in Pacoima, Los Angeles, on Tuesday evening, August 1, 2023.

The Los Angeles Fire Department reported the accident occurred around 11:20 p.m. when the sedan traveled eastbound on Paxton Street near Glenoaks Boulevard.

The driver struck the victim but failed to stop and offer assistance.

The LAFD arrived promptly and transported the pedestrian to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The identity of the victim is being withheld by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office until relatives are notified.

LA City and ex-Mayor Garcetti set up a Hit-and-Run Reward Program in 2015, offering up to $50,000 for tips leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of hit-and-run drivers or resolution through a civil compromise.
