[08-06-2023] Contra Costa County, CA – Antioch Sideshow Resulted to Three Car Crashes Injuring One Woman

A woman was injured after a sideshow resulted in three car crashes in Antioch on Sunday morning, August 6, 2023.

The Antioch Police Department responded to the accident at Ninth and G Streets around 3:00 a.m.

One car spun into the river, and another ran over a concrete trash container and busted a water main while participating in the sideshow.

The third car sped off without turning on its lights. When police realized the car’s hood covered the windshield, they ended their pursuit. At Ninth and G Streets, that car eventually crashed. The vehicle hit a fire hydrant and another car, causing injuries to a female bystander.

The 50-year-old woman was transported to a hospital in critical condition. After running away from the scene, the 21-year-old driver was caught by police and arrested for felony reckless driving and felony hit-and-run. There is already a warrant out for his arrest for sideshow activity.

The sideshow continued at the marina. Those drivers were gone by the time police arrived.

There was no disclosure of the identities of the people involved. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
