[08-12-2023] Los Angeles County, CA – Bicyclist Killed Following Hit-and-Run Collision in Arleta

A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Arleta, Los Angeles, on Saturday evening, August 12, 2023.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred on Van Nuys Boulevard around 10:50 p.m.

A black Infiniti Q50 was heading west on Van Nuys Boulevard. The bicyclist was also heading west on the boulevard when the Infiniti struck them. The car driver fled the scene without identifying himself or offering assistance to the bicyclist.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity is being withheld pending the investigation.

The Infiniti was last seen heading south on Canterbury Avenue, leaving debris in its wake. The suspect was reported to be about 24 years old, roughly 5’11’’ tall, and weighed around 180 pounds. Besides wearing a red and black baseball cap and a gray tank top, he has a tattoo of a “P” on his right arm.
