A woman was killed, while another was injured after their car collided with an electric box, leading to electrocution in San Diego on Saturday morning, August 26, 2023.
The San Diego Police Department responded to the accident on the 1300 block of Euclid Avenue around 2:30 a.m.
After swerving to the right side of the road, the 2014 Kia Forte crossed the sidewalk and crashed with an electrical box.
Both the driver and passenger were able to exit the vehicle. In an attempt to push the vehicle off the electrical box, the passenger was electrocuted.
A nearby hospital treated the driver for minor electrical burns, which do not appear to be life-threatening. In contrast, the passenger sustained fatal injuries.
The vehicle’s driver was identified as a 31-year-old woman, while her passenger was a 22-year-old woman. No further detail was revealed.
The investigation continues, and anyone with information about the crash is urged to come forward.
