[01-17-2025] DUI Crash In Dublin Injures Three After Tesla Flies Into Honda OdysseyThree people were injured following a DUI-related traffic collision at the intersection of San Ramon Road and Amador Valley Boulevard in Dublin on Friday evening, January 17, 2025.

According to the Dublin Police Services, the crash happened around 9:51 p.m. when a Tesla traveling at high speed struck a pedestrian sign and traffic signal at Silvergate Drive before continuing southbound on San Ramon Road. The vehicle then veered off the roadway, hitting irrigation boxes and shrubs, and continued across Amador Valley Boulevard’s westbound lane before striking the center median.

The Tesla went airborne and crashed into the roof of a Honda Odyssey, which was stopped at a red light at Amador Valley Boulevard and San Ramon Valley Road. The impact caused the Tesla to flip onto its roof, coming to a stop at the southwest corner of the intersection.

Emergency responders extricated the Tesla driver, who was trapped inside the overturned vehicle. Authorities reported detecting the smell of alcohol and arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI. Pending blood test results and further investigation, additional charges may be filed. Investigators also noted that there was no indication that the Tesla driver applied the brakes before the crash.

The driver of the Tesla, along with the driver and passenger of the Honda Odyssey, was sent to a local hospital after sustaining major injuries.

The incident remains under investigation, and authorities urge witnesses to come forward with any relevant information.
