What To Do After A Car Accident In Victorville, CA

Dealing with the aftermath of an accident can be overwhelming, but taking the right steps can make all the difference. Here are some highly recommended actions to help you navigate this challenging time:

  1. Prioritize Safety — Check yourself and others for possible trauma and call 911 immediately. If your car is not driveable, leave it where it is and proceed to a safe location.
  2. Get In Touch With The Police — Report the incident to the appropriate authorities as soon as possible. In case of a vehicle accident, the police will prepare an accident report to support a claim for damages caused by the incident.
  3. Gather Enough Evidence And Contact Information — Take pictures of the accident scene and get contact information from all parties involved, as well as any witnesses. Note the make and model of the other driver’s vehicle. Ensure that any property damage is documented with photographs.
  4. Seek Medical Attention As Soon As Possible — Even if there are no apparent wounds, you may have a concussion or other serious condition. Moreover, many injuries do not manifest themselves until a few days later. Following an accident, see a doctor and get medical assistance right away.
  5. Document Injuries Sustained — If you sustained an injury, ensure you keep any medical documents you receive.
  6. Avoid Posting On Social Media — Social media is a dangerous place to share information about your accident; even the simplest thing could be misinterpreted and jeopardize your case.
  7. Consult With Arash Law’s Car Accident Attorneys — Insurance companies may try to pay accident victims the lowest possible payout. Therefore, we recommend that you seek advice after a car accident and hire a lawyer who has experience with negotiations and litigation.
