[09-21-2025] San Diego County, CA โ€“ Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle on La Jolla Village Drive

A 31-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle in the University neighborhood of San Diego on Sunday evening, September 21, 2025.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash occurred around 9:15 p.m. The pedestrian was walking southbound from the center median of 4300 La Jolla Village Drive when she was struck by an eastbound Volkswagen Jetta. The victim was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police reported that the woman strayed into the driverโ€™s path and that driving under the influence was not believed to be a factor.

Authorities continue to investigate the collision.
