A 64-year-old bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle on East Orangethorpe Avenue in Placentia on Friday, August 29, 2025.
According to the Placentia Police Department, officers responded to the 200 block of East Orangethorpe Avenue at approximately 5:00 p.m. after receiving reports of a collision involving a bicyclist.
The bicyclist was found lying in the roadway, and immediate aid was rendered until emergency responders arrived and continued life-saving measures, including CPR. The man was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by detectives.
