Car accidents and fatalities caused by vehicle collisions are on the rise in California, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) Fatality Facts 2018 report. Because of its large population, California has a high number of drivers on the road, which could increase the state’s overall car accident rate.

According to data collected by the CA Highway Patrol in the Golden State, car accidents occur every three minutes. This means that in 2017, there were around 20 accidents per hour on average.

The driver who caused the accident owes the other parties involved the money they lost due to the injuries and property damage listed above.
