[09-27-2026] Kings County, CA – 38-Year-Old Man Killed in DUI Collision in Hanford

A 38-year-old man identified as Jose L. was killed in a DUI collision in Hanford on Sunday night, September 27, 2026.

According to the Hanford Police Department, officers responded at around 10:30 p.m. to the intersection of 12th Avenue and Grangeville Boulevard.

Police found the victim unresponsive and pinned inside a Toyota Prius with visible injuries and a weak pulse. Firefighters extricated him from the vehicle, and he was transported to Adventist Health Hanford, where he later died from his injuries.

The other driver, identified as 61-year-old George B., suffered minor injuries. Police said he was driving a Ford F-250 and showed signs of alcohol impairment at the scene. Authorities said he failed a series of field sobriety tests.

Investigators believe the suspect was traveling eastbound on Grangeville Boulevard when he failed to stop at a red light and collided with the victim’s Prius, which was traveling northbound on 12th Avenue.

Authorities continue to investigate the fatal collision.
