[10-05-2026] Ventura County, CA – One Killed, Two Injured in Head-On Crash Outside Oxnard

A 45-year-old man was killed, and two others sustained injuries in a head-on collision just outside Oxnard on Monday afternoon, October 5, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded at around 3:16 p.m. near Vineyard Avenue and Perello Ranch Road, where they found a BMW 328i sedan and a Honda Civic with significant front-end damage.

CHP said a 22-year-old woman was driving a BMW eastbound on Vineyard Avenue with a female juvenile as a passenger. A 45-year-old man from Santa Paula was driving the Honda Civic westbound on the same road.

Investigators said the Honda driver made a left turn, crossed into opposing traffic lanes, and collided head-on with the BMW.

The Honda driver sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The BMW driver suffered major injuries and was transported to Ventura County Medical Center. Her juvenile passenger was also hospitalized with minor injuries.

CHP said it remains unknown whether alcohol or drugs contributed to the collision. Authorities continue to investigate the fatal crash.
