Fatal Pedestrian Accident Statistics
Pedestrian accidents frequently result in serious injuries and even death for the unfortunate victims.
Pedestrian accidents frequently result in head trauma, such as concussions or brain bleeds, as well as traumatic brain injuries. Functional limitations or long-term conditions are possible outcomes of many pedestrian accident injuries.
A pedestrian’s vulnerability to traffic hazards is much greater than that of a private vehicle. In the event of an accident, they are less protected and less powerful.
Pedestrians have been involved in a disproportionate number of traffic-related deaths over the last three decades. According to the Governors Highway Safety Association, passenger deaths in the United States increased by 27% between 2007 and 2016, while other types of traffic-related deaths decreased by 14%. Negligent driving, speeding, and pedestrians being ignored by drivers are among the most common causes of pedestrian accidents.
Within two years of the accident, a California wrongful death lawsuit must be filed. It is precluded for a family member to file a wrongful death lawsuit after that time period has passed.
