Road Rage Accident Statistics
Anyone who has spent a significant amount of time behind the wheel understands how aggravating driving and other drivers can be.
Road rage events can occur due to a variety of common scenarios. When a vehicle merges onto a highway or into a lane, another driver may respond aggressively if they do not allow enough space before merging into the lane.
According to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, nearly 80% of drivers in the United States reported being extremely angry and aggressive or engaged in road rage at least once in the previous year. Approximately eight million persons engaged in serious road rage activities, such as stepping out of their cars to confront others or crashing into other cars.
Every year in the United States, road rage is the cause of around 30 murders. Eight out of ten Americans engage in road rage conduct at least once a year. Unfortunately, road rage is frequently classified as an exemption in many auto insurance policies, resulting in no coverage for road rage-related charges.
