Hit-and-Run Accident Statistics

A car accident caused by another driver’s carelessness is never pleasant. As soon as the other driver refuses to stop, accepts responsibility for the accident, and offers assistance, the situation will deteriorate significantly.

There are far too many instances of hit-and-runs in car accidents. In 2016, hit-and-runs claimed the lives of 2,049 people in the United States, and a recent study estimates that 682,000 hit-and-runs occur annually in the country. At least one pedestrian is killed each week as a result of a car accident.

You have no choice but to walk if you want to avoid being injured in a pedestrian accident because of the negligence of others.

Many people choose to leave the scene of an accident rather than wait for the police to arrive for a number of different reasons. Driving under the influence of alcohol may be more likely in the case of those who lack proper documentation or insurance.
