A 54-year-old man identified as Herculano G. was killed by a Metro A Line train in the Florence-Firestone area of Los Angeles County on Friday, April 29.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Transit Services Bureau, the crash occurred around 11:00 a.m. at the rail crossing near Gage and Holmes avenues.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The rail service was disrupted between the Florence and Slauson stations on the A-Line, formerly known as the Blue Line, and bus shuttles were arranged to assist rail passengers.
The crash remains under investigation.
