[05-04-2022] San Diego County, CA – One Teen Seriously Injured in Road Rage Stabbing on Santa Fe Avenue

Officials said a group of teenagers got into a fight in Vista which resulted in a stolen car crash and a stabbing on Wednesday, May 4, 2022.

According to a news release from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the assault occurred on a Wednesday afternoon on North Santa Fe Avenue near Bobier Drive, a short distance from Vista High School.

During the fight between several juveniles, one of the teens stole another’s vehicle.

Officials wrote that the victim began chasing after his stolen car as it was being driven away.
A short distance away, the car collided with another vehicle.

According to the sheriff’s department, the car’s owner caught up to the other teen after the crash, and the two began fighting again.

The other teen stabbed the owner of the car and fled.

Officials said the stabbing victim was badly injured and had to be airlifted out of the area.

According to a photographer with News Flash Media, the helicopter landed on the softball fields at the high school and transported the teen to Palomar Medical Center.

Two cars, a white sedan, and a blue sedan, were seen sitting on the street with minor damage in the photographer’s video.

It was unclear which vehicle had been stolen.

According to the sheriff’s department, detectives are still looking into what led to the fight.

Authorities have not disclosed any suspects or identified the victim.
