Multi-Vehicle Crash Statistics
Because of the state’s burgeoning economy, car accidents are all too common in California. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2017, 3,304 people were killed in car accidents. Driving is extremely dangerous in California. Collisions could have been avoided in the vast majority of cases. Human error is thought to be the cause of 94% of all accidents.
Depending on the extent of one’s injuries, traffic accidents can be both painful and life-altering. It’s easy for drivers to forget how dangerous their vehicles are because of the frequency of accidents.
The term “multi-car accident” refers to a collision involving three or more vehicles. When six or more vehicles are involved in a collision, a pile-up occurs.
According to a recent study by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), over 13,000 people were killed in collisions involving multiple passenger vehicles in 2010.
Los Angeles County Car Accident Lawyers
Two-vehicle collisions are easy to prosecute because there are only two parties involved. A collision involving multiple vehicles, on the other hand, can exacerbate the situation.
When a large number of vehicles are involved in an accident, it is much more difficult to determine who is at fault. Many people could have been hurt if there had been a collision between several vehicles.
An insurance company may not be the best choice for determining fault in a multi-vehicle collision because of the difficulty in doing so. Your needs come second to the needs of the insurance company, which may or may not compensate you in any way.
