According to the California Highway Patrol, one person is dead after a two-vehicle wrong-way collision in Cerritos Saturday evening, August 21, 2022.
According to the reports the crash transpired shortly after 6:30 p.m. southbound of 605 Freeway just south of Alondra Boulevard.
According to eyewitnesses who spoke with CHP officers, the driver of a dark-colored sedan struck a silver-colored pickup truck head-on while traveling the wrong way in the southbound lanes of the freeway.
The officers did not disclose any information regarding the two drivers involved.
The crash remains under investigation.
