[08-28-2022] Los Angeles County, CA – 3 People Died and Two Others were in Critical Condition after Fatal Head-on Collision in Santa Clarita

Two of the three men killed in a head-on collision on San Francisquito Canyon Road on Sunday afternoon, August 28, 2022, have been identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-office Coroner’s.

According to Sarah Ardalani, a public information officer for the coroner’s office, the victims of the crash were a 28-year-old man from Santa Clarita named Spencer T., a 41-year-old man from Glendale named Shane R., and a 40-year-old man from Valencia whose ID is pending notification of next of kin.

Robert Diaz, a dispatcher for the Los Angeles County Fire Department, said that two others in critical condition were taken by ambulance to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.

The collision happened around 4:10 p.m. at the San Francisquito Canyon Road and Riverview Road Intersection in Saugus.

According to the local authorities, the two additional patients were taken by ambulance with serious injuries. Still, three of them were later pronounced dead upon arrival at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.

One of the vehicles caught fire due to the traffic collision, but firefighters could put it out at around 4:37 p.m.

According to the eyewitness, the white BMW came at probably 90 mph straight into the pickup truck. Assuming it lost control due to driving at high speed.
