According to the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian man, a father of four, was fatally struck by a DUI driver in Escondido early Sunday morning, September 18, 2022.
According to CHP, the collision occurred at around 4:00 a.m. on the northbound lane, just north of Miramar Road.
The victim was named Delfino G. He was trying to get home on Sunday morning after working as a lighting and sound technician at a nightclub in San Diego.
Her wife called to say they were out of gas, so he walked to get gas. As he was walking, a 23-year-old man in a Lexus hit him.

The driver was a 23-year-old man from San Diego named Cyrus Peterson.
From what the CHP has found so far, Gonzalez may have been walking in the lanes of traffic.
