[09-08-2021] Butte County, CA – One Person Hurt After a Head-On Collision in Chico

Three people were hurt after a head-on collision in Chico on Wednesday morning, September 8th.

[09-08-2021] Butte County, CA - One Person Hurt After a Head-On Collision in ChicoThe crash transpired at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Cohasset Road, just south of the Chico Airport.

A white Subaru was driving on Cohasset Road when, for unclear reasons, it swerved over the double yellow lines and veered into oncoming traffic. The driver reportedly had problems steering the vehicle.

The Subaru then collided head-on with a northbound blue Nissan Pathfinder. It’s unclear what caused the Subaru’s steering to malfunction.

The female Nissan driver sustained serious injuries in the mishap, including a broken bone on her lower leg and left arm. She was immediately taken to Enloe Medical Center and is expected to undergo surgery.

Meanwhile, the Subaru driver sustained minor injuries and is expected to recover quickly. The accident is currently under further investigation.
