[11-01-2021] Humboldt County, CA - One Person Killed After a Fatal Pedestrian Accident Near LoletaAccording to the initial reports from authorities, the accident happened at around 2:12 a.m. on Highway 101 near Loleta. The victim was walking along the US-101 northbound lanes when a passing 2021 Subaru sedan suddenly struck him.

The emergency personnel later arrived at the scene and immediately gave the victim a first-aid. Unfortunately, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver that struck the victim remained at the scene and willingly cooperated with authorities. He was uninjured in the crash.

It’s unclear whether intoxication played a role in the crash. The crash is currently under further investigation.
